After drawing up my storyboard I filmed each scene and arranged the clips into an animatic with music playing in the background. This provides a solid structure and informs other participants of their roles.
Below is a uploaded video of my animatic:
Storyboard
The sketches of musical instruments in my storyboard are key milestones signaling the point
of transition from drama to studio clip featuring the band playing between the lyrics.
Shot types
I incorporated different shot types with the intention of engaging the viewer.
Close up
These were used to highlight specific features. The opening shot is a close up of roses to denote romance. Later on I use a ring to signify a wedding matching the lyrics.
Mid shot
Generates an impression of the subject. I have used a mid shot to introduce the characters.
Two shot
Similar to a mid shot with more than one person. This has been used in my animatic to indicate the bigger boy is more popular by having friends around him.
Establishing shot
Used to set scenes on the seafront. in the house & on the street.
Camera angles
Eye level
I used eye level angles to maintain realism and equal dominance
High level
I took shots like this to belittle the small boy emphasizing his inferiority.
