Copyright


Copyright protects the physical expression of ideas. These take the form of a piece of writing, music, a photograph, a painting or a film. Copyright is designed to offer protection to the creator of the ideas. The aim is to stop the ideas or creations being plagiarized or used without recompense to the creator. Copyright is a property which can be sold or transferred to others. Copyright is regulated by law. The main copyright legislation in the UK is the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988(CDPA) This was amended in October 2003 by the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 which incorporated into UK law the changes required by the EU Copyright Directive.

I e-mailed EMI records (Richard Stone) to ask permission to, film the video for the Artic Monkeys to assure that I don't break Copyright laws:
